If your beer store is knowledgeable, there should be at least one staff member who is able to help you pick out a few options based on what you've described. So if you try a style and don't like it, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't like the style, it might just be that breweries take on the style. There are many breweries making different styles, but they all tend to do them differently from one another. That will generally tell you about what type of beer it is. Many breweries will have their own name for a style, but also tend to include the style name on the bottle. No worries! Witbiers (aka White Ales), Kolschs, and Blonde Ales are all styles of beer.
